Get Box is a simple and smart personal internet connectivity device. For more information visit our Get Box page.

How many Get Boxes are you distributing?

Jangala is distributing 5,000 Get Boxes across the UK in a joint programme with Virgin Media O2. We anticipate high demand for the Get Boxes so please register your interest as soon as possible. At the moment, we will be capturing requests and running small-scale pilots with a small number of organisations, with a view to rolling out at a large scale in 2024.

Can I apply for a Get Box as an individual?

Unfortunately, you cannot currently apply for Get Box as an individual as Jangala only works through partner organisations. This is so that we can support as many people as possible to get online with limited resources. If you are an individual experiencing digital exclusion please do visit the Good Things Foundation’s website where you can find an Online Centres Network centre near you.

How does Get Box work?

You can find more information on our Get Box page.

How do I become a project partner?

Jangala will distribute the Get Boxes to its project partners. We ask that our project partners take on the responsibility of delivering the Get Boxes to their end users and register to the National Databank’s Online Centres Network.

No. Jangala and VM02 cover the cost of the hardware, delivery and ongoing support costs. Data will be provided for free through the National Databank.

We work with organisations, charities or schools who work with people who need connectivity. The reasons for digital exclusion are varied, and we are committed to tackling it in all its forms. Our current partners include schools, education charities, NHS trusts, local councils, refuges, refugee charities and digital inclusion charities. If you are unsure as to whether your organisation qualifies, please get in touch.

What will be responsibilities be as a project partner?

Our project partners are responsible for delivering Get Boxes to the people they work with. You will also work with Jangala to monitor and support the Get Boxes.

What is involved in setting up Get Box?

Get Box is a very easy device to set up. There are simple instructions included. Essentially, Get Box will need to be plugged into a power socket and loaded with a data SIM card and within minutes, the Wi-Fi will be ready.

How much data do I get with a Get Box?

For every Get Box, VM02 will provide a SIM card with 25GB of free data each month through the National Databank.

How many people can Get Box Wi-Fi support?

Each Get Box can support up to 15 people when the signal strength is good. This may be less in areas of poor signal. If more than 15 people need connecting in a single place or larger setting (such as a building with multiple rooms), Jangala will work with your team to explore other options.

The people we support live in areas of very low signal - will Get Box still work?

Get Box will still work but low signal will affect the quality of the Wi-Fi.
