Jangala has deployed 20 Big Box systems worldwide in the last two years. Our work has provided crucial internet access in many situations: including for aid workers and internally displaced people in the aftermath of the Lombok earthquake, for students taking online secondary school courses in remote Kakuma in Kenya, and for refugees arriving by boat to the island of Lesbos in Greece. Jangala’s efforts to date have connected over 25,000 people.
Jangala works with both grassroots organisations and large aid and development organisations.
We provide Big Box systems to grassroots organisations free of charge. We welcome applications from organisations with demonstrable experience in providing vital basic services to those impacted by natural or man-made disaster.
We are working with larger organisations to help develop the functionality of Big Box and ready the system for commercialisation. Our larger partners include BT, Team Rubicon and Help Refugees.
